Cityville strategy - Free Money (If you're quick)

Did you know there is a way to make Cityville coins in Zynga's Cityville without spending any extra energy or goods.  Now this isn't a hack or an oversight on the part of the online game's designers, it is there quite intentionally and you can reap the rewards whether you are farming, collecting rent or collecting from businesses.
You will have noticed by now that when you harvest crops, collect rent, unload ships or take practically any "collecting" activity in Cityville, that Icons representing your coins, experience, reputation, energy or "collection items" are displayed.  You don't have to click on them as they eventually will "go to the top" and be tallied with your "earnings", but if you do you will start to collect a bonus that costs you nothing extra (other than your attention).

There must be a better way of describing the "icon clicking bonus" so if you have a suggestion let me know.
When you click these icons you start a bonus coin meter in the top right of your screen.  The bonus coin meter climbs like a progress bar through different levels of bonus.  Each level has a different "compliment" shown for your efforts and each additional level results in a higher number of bonus coins when you finish.  There is a timeout on the meter, so if you take too long between clicking, the meter will flash red, then close.  When it closes it lists the bonus you have earned.  At the low levels you can earn 36 coins, as you progress to higher levels you can easily earn an 1800 coin bonus.

Things to watch when maximizing your icon clicking bonus;
Cityville pop-up notifications.  Running low on energy, completing a collection and leveling up with experience  can result in pop-ups.  for that reason you might consider not clicking on collection items, and you definitely want to start your run with lots of energy.
Screen scrolling having to click and scroll your screen to reach icons or find the next crop to harvest  can interrupt your click run, so consider maximizing your screen before you start a run.  Also whenever possible choose rows of objects to click rather than randomly selected targets, this will allow you to target icons much more rapidly.
Click timing;  while you might be tempted to harvest one item at a time and then click the icons for that item and harvest the next item, this puts you in constant jeopardy of running down the timeout for the bonus coin meter.  A better strategy is to harvest a second item prior to picking up the items from the first. This ensures an adequate supply of clickable items to keep the meter running.  (to clarify, you could harvest more than 1 item at a time, perhaps a row of houses, and before you finish click on all of the clickable icons, harvest another group of items)
Zoom out; Since the icons remain the same size regardless of the map's zoom level, you can zoom out to see the whole map, but still click on the icons as effectively.  With a reduction in scrolling, this can be an effective tactic to harvest rapidly.

Here is an example of some "Masterful" bonus meter clicking I found online;
